ScoutSight Privacy Policy

This Policy was instituted on April 1, 2015.

PotentiaMetrics, Inc. operates this app (hereinafter, the "App"), and its components that are part of the services offered (hereinafter, the "Services"). ScoutSight's Services may include, without limitation, tools, applications, email services, bulletin and message boards, chat areas, news groups, forums, communities, calendars, and downloadable mobile application upgrades related to the Sites or provided through the App and corresponding websites and social media sites (hereinafter, “Sites”).

We provide you this privacy policy (the "Policy") to help you understand the kinds of information we may gather about you when you visit the App or use any of our Services, how we may use and disclose the information, and how you can control, correct and/or update the information.

To be clear about the terminology we are using, when we use the phrase "Personal Information" in this Policy, we mean information that can be used to reasonably identify or contact a person, like a person’s name, photograph, address, e-mail address, or phone number. When we use the phrase "Anonymous Information" in this Policy, we mean information that cannot reasonably be used to identify individual persons.

Your Personal Information will be processed by us in the United States.

In addition to this general Policy, each Service may have additional privacy provisions that are specific to the particular Service. These supplemental disclosures are made adjacent to the particular Service at the time we collect the information. These supplemental disclosures also govern the use of your information.

This Privacy Policy outlines the type of information ScoutSight and its collective tools collects from individuals who have downloaded ScoutSight ("Users") and how it is shared with other third parties.

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, and without prior notice, by posting an amended Privacy Policy and terms on this website. We encourage Users to review this policy periodically for any updates.

What kind of information we collect

Shared Data

Some of the information that Users provide about themselves may be shared with the ScoutSight community, Partners, and others ("Shared Data"). In the course of using the App or Sites, Users may share information that could be used to reasonably identify or contact them ("Personal Information"), including name, address, phone number and email address. When a User chooses to share Personal Information via signing up or logging into the app using its interface, signing up or logging into the app using Facebook, by using the fields within the settings page of the app, or by participating in any of the optional market research surveys, the information shall be treated as Shared Data.

Social Networks

We provide social networks, and other interactive forums available as part of the Services. You should be aware that any information which you post to these interactive forums or otherwise choose to make publicly available, including your Personal Information, may be disclosed and available to all users who have access to that portion of the Site or Services. By using these interactive forums, you agree that we are not responsible for any information that you disclose or communicate in such forums, and any disclosures you make are at your own risk.

Children's Information

The App, Sites and Services are not directed or intended for children under 4+ years of age. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years of age, you should not register or provide Personal Information on the App, Sites or through the Services. If you are the parent or guardian of a child whom you believe has disclosed Personal Information to us, please contact us at so that we may delete and remove such child's information from our systems.

Restricted Data

Some of the information that Users enter into certain fields when registering to use or using the Site will not be shared ("Restricted Data"). The type of Restricted Data that Users may submit at the Site may include:

  1. Email address, as collected and verified as part of registration or in a User’s Account Information, and
  2. Password, as collected as part of registration or in a User’s Account Information
When a User enters Personal Information, including name and email address, as part of registering to use ScoutSight, that Personal Information is treated as Restricted Data.

A cookie is a small data file that often includes an anonymous, unique token, which is sent to the mobile application from a website’s computers and may be stored on your mobile phone. Cookies may be required to use the ScoutSight App when (1) a user signs up or logs into Facebook, and (2) when the user returns to the app, in order to store their preferences within the app.

Users should expect that every piece of information they submit (even if it is not currently displayed), except for Restricted Data, may be shared with other users and Partners. Users are encouraged to share information but should consider that the more information that is entered, the more likely it is that a User could be located or identified. There are instances where both Shared Data and Restricted Data, including Personal Information, may be used and disclosed including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. ScoutSight uses Shared Data, Restricted Data, and Site Usage internally, as needed, for research, for maintenance and operation of the App and Sites, and to create the best possible tools and functionality for users.
  2. ScoutSight may use a User’s Personal Information or other data in the case of an emergency or other circumstance that we determine requires a member of the management team to directly contact the User.
  3. ScoutSight may share or disclose a User’s Personal Information or other data where required by law or to comply with legal process.
  4. In the event ScoutSight goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another organization, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, the Shared Data and Restricted Data, including Personal Information, might be among the assets transferred. Users will be notified via this Site of any such change in ownership or control of Personal Information.

How Shared Data is Used

In addition to serving the individual needs of our Users, ScoutSight and its Partners are interested in better understanding the user experience and improving options for everyone. ScoutSight may provide Shared Data, in individual and aggregate format, to Partners and other third parties for use in market research. When selling this information, ScoutSight removes Users’ Restricted Data to reduce the likelihood of re-identification prior to sharing information with Partners. ScoutSight will also periodically ask Users to complete short surveys about their experiences (including questions about products and services). Users’ responses are analyzed, combined with Users’ Shared Data and shared with and/or sold to Partners. Member participation in surveys is not required, and refusal to do so will not impact a User’s experience on the App or Sites. ScoutSight does not provide Restricted Data to regulatory bodies, except where required by law or to comply with legal process, although we reserve the right to contact Users for follow-up at the request of agencies or Partners. The information ScoutSight reports includes, but is not limited to, all of the information about the User and/or free text or images on the forums or evaluations, which may include Shared Data.

How Restricted Data is Used

Restricted Data is not automatically shared with, sold to, or displayed for other Users or Partners.

Other security issues

ScoutSight cannot guarantee the identity of any other Users with whom a User may interact in the course of using the App or social media Sites who may have access to a User’s Shared Data. Additionally, we cannot guarantee the authenticity of any data that Members may provide about themselves. Finally, Users should know that ScoutSight takes commercially reasonable technical precautions to help keep User data secure.

Risks and benefits

It is possible that a User could be identified using information shared on ScoutSight App, Sites and/or in conjunction with other data sources. A Member could be discriminated against or experience repercussions as a result of the information shared. For example, it is possible that employers or others may discriminate based on shared information. Members should understand that anyone can download ScoutSight, participate on its corresponding social media Sites and view any Shared Data in the system or on those Sites. If you are reading this Privacy Policy because you have access to the Personal Information of a Site participant, we urge you to recognize and fulfill your responsibility to protect the privacy of that person. Users are free to stop using this App or use of corresponding social media Sites at any time. If a Member chooses to deactivate his/her account, ScoutSight will not display or sell the data in that account as of the date of deactivation. However, the User’s data will remain in the system for auditing purposes, and research conducted prior to the deactivation of a User’s account will still include the User’s data. The User’s data may also remain on the corresponding social media Sites.
